Rain Sticks and Pudding

We made rain sticks this morning. We took paper towel holders that had been cut in half and had one end sealed. Then we used a funnel and our hands to fill them with the rice.

Then we sealed up the other end and listened to the sounds they made!

We shook them with two hands...

We hit them against the floor...

We turned them side to side gently...

We shook them all over!

We also played with butterscotch pudding today! It was very messy, so we played in just our diapers.

We were a little unsure at first...

You want me to touch that???

Pretty soon though, we were pudding pros!

Carson stayed the cleanest...He found ways to play without his hands!

Is it yummy?

Delicious!

Sponge Painting and Rice

We sponge painted for our art project today. It is always so fun to watch the changes on our paper before and after we paint!

Some of us found painting on paper to inhibit our creativity...

This afternoon we played with rice in the sensory table. We love to dig, stir, pour, and throw!

Oh Mason...what are we going to do with you??

Cotton Balls and Flower Pots

It is Wednesday so we started off our day by going to playgroup and ran around with our friends!

We filled the sensory table with cotton balls today. They were so soft and fun to throw!

When we were digging, we discovered a surprise! The cotton balls were hiding a bunch of zebras!

Those zebras were pretty sneaky!

We also planted flower seeds today! First we filled the pots with dirt...

We liked how the dirt felt on our hands! It was cool and a little damp...

Next, we looked at the pictures of flowers and chose which ones we wanted to plant...

We used a pen to make holes in the soil for our seeds, and then buried them in the dirt...

All done!

Dandelions and Bumblebees

What a busy day we had! We headed outside first thing and picked dandelions in the backyard.

We brought the dandelions back into the house and filled up a little sensory table with them. They were fun to touch and smell!

They sure could tickle our little noses!

Mason!! You silly goose! Where are the dandelions???

When we were playing with our dandelions, we started hearing a buzzing sound! Carson found the source...a giant bumblebee in the sunroom! Luckily we were able to catch it!

Buzzzzzzzzzzz!

We let the bee go outside, but we found some more bugs to catch in the house.

Did you catch a ladybug Carson?

The big purple spider escaped!

We brought some of the dandelions into the kitchen for our art project. We used them as paintbrushes!

Bryell even painted her hands and lips :)
